quite the improvement
from Autoblog
Launching this winter, the 2017 model features a new turbocharged engine—the first for the CR-V—that’s also used in the Civic. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder is expected to be rated at 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet. The torque maxes out from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm, adding a spunkier feel to Honda’s buttoned-down ute. The naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder continues, making 184 hp and 180 lb-ft. Both are paired with a continuously variable transmission. Final fuel economy figures weren’t released, but the 2016 2.4-liter achieved 26 miles per gallon in the city and 32 mpg on the highway in front-wheel-drive trim (25/31 with AWD). Next year’s model is lighter, but 2017 also brings revised adjustments to stated fuel economy figures - so expect some increase in real-world mpg, even if the window sticker number is different.

I know that’s the EX-L (I assume), but the cabin looks like a nice place to be!
I’m undecided on the design. I actually don’t mind the current CR-V, but it does look like a more higher end design, if that makes sense.

THE WHEELS THO.
And the Interior just looks great.

Not as ugly as I expected on the outside. The interior looks good, and dem nuclear hazard wheels.

From the front, this is all I see.

BRING BACK THREE SPOKE(ish) WHEELS

You know, there’s a whole lot of truth to the “everything looks like an Accord” cliche. Though I would extend that to Honda in general. They just seem to use styling elements from all over and as a result they look familiar and comforting. Usually. Sometimes they have trouble getting stuff to work together, but here it’s not bad. And for examples:
From the back, I get a bit of Rav4/Volvo taillights mix.
From the front, I see Outlander/Edge.
From the side, I get a distinct XC90 vibe.

Honda is all-in on the accented wheel craze.
Blech...

That’s really my only knock against it. Otherwise, it’s a handsome car

Definitely a big change, vaguely Mitsubishi-ish. I like it.

The interior looks like a CGI rendering more than a photo to me so we’ll see how the material quality shakes out in real life. But generally speaking Honda has been stepping up their interior quality lately. It had gotten a little chintzy in the earlier part of this decade. If only they weren’t obsessed with stupid capacitive buttons for things like HVAC.

This picture is... weirdly emotional for me. Brings back lots of memories.
That interior looks like a great place to spend time, too!

It looks borderline luxury in a car I’m sure is starting under $25k

Welp, I have to correct myself, the new CR-V has knobs for volume and HVAC. The only capacitive buttons are things to do with the capacitive touch screen nav unit.
